Am I There Yet?

Today I should be starting my new life in the UK. Cyprus was in its high 30c+ (80+), when we left, and I am certain I won’t be experiencing that kind of heat, here in the coastal town of, Dovercourt, near  Harwich.

See images here.

This is a poem I wrote as a tribute to my seaside birth-town:

Harwich, Essex, England

Stormy shores and waves,
Rock pools, fish and caves,
Salty lips and sandy toes,
The beach is where my heart goes.

Born near water,
A sailor’s daughter,
Romantic walks, starlit night,
Young lover’s delight.

Seaweed crown with shells,
Suntan lotion smells,
Wispy hair and sticky hand,
A castle for a princess made of sand.

Beachcombing days,
A summertime haze,
Rippling crests of foam,
Memories of my childhood home.

I will be back soon, I just need a few days to clear my head. Author interviews are scheduled, so please make them all welcome.
