Let’s get the irritated part out of the way … my laptop died. Yes, my precious machine is lying dormant until I can get it diagnosed. Fortunately, I backed up some files to an external harddrive before leaving Cyprus. It was a precautionary measure against me dropping my beloved on the floor while travelling. Mother has a laptop so am bashing out this post on hers before she rises from her afternoon nap.
DH and I went walking again today, and followed the path my POV, Elle Buchanan would have followed in search of food. She lives off the sea, and we found the little Winkles, Mussels, Seaweed, Crabs, and other savoury items she would hunt out. I photographed several things for inspiration. I even found the pool where she fetched water for boiling. Also the salt dike where the green seaweed gets trapped. The Romans built many to retain the salt, and bring water closer inland. We walked a long breaker, and the wind really whipped around. The salt on my lips, and the smell of fresh seaweed, really fire me up to write another chapter of, The Man in Room Eighteen.
Beautiful pictures, great inspiration. Sorry about the laptop, hope it feels better soon!
Thanks, Jade. I am missing my precious! LOL
Still sick, Jade. I am hoping my work can be retrieved!
Oh no! I am crossing everything for you – it would be a nightmare to lose everything… 😦
Glynis – Those ‘photos are gorgeous! Lucky you to have so much beauty to see. I am awfully sorry to hear about your laptop though. That’s just horrible! You were wise to back up your things, and I hope that either it gets repaired quickly or you get a new one soon.
Margot, I appreciate the UK far more having been away. I hate not having my own laptop around me! We are attached at the hip. LOL
Hi Glynis .. oh dear – that’s what I dread .. but now with some technical help I’m getting my brain into gear .. all things will be backed up and ‘secured’ as best we can … so I’m feeling easier in that direction.
Just so much learning to do for the new projects .. but help is much appreciated – I’m lucky I found someone ..
It’s lovely being by the seaside isn’t it .. and you’re obviously enjoying being home … love the photos etc .. thank goodness for your mother’s laptop .. I’ve just got a bluetooth keyboard for my ipad – that will help .. Chrome keeps dropping me on the pc for some reason ..
Cheers Hilary
Hilary, I am so pleased I backed up my work when I did! I am enjoying being home, and soon will be fishing by the shore again. 🙂
Bad laptop! Bad!
Lovely photographs, Glynis!
It is having its inards removed today. Punishment for letting me down at a crucial moment! LOL
Glad you like the pics. I will have more soon.
Sorry to hear about your laptop.
Lovely photos Glynis!
I used the word winkles in my novella and it’s been so long (okay, a year, but I miss the sea) since I was by the sea that I started doubting myself, wondering if there was really such a creature 🙂
It’s been a nightmare, Deniz. I know we shouldn’t rely on these things but I do! It is my lifeline to the writing world.
Winkles exist and taste lovely! I shall be collecting some for supper soon. I pickle them in vinegar, and enjoy them with crusty brown bread. 🙂
