Festival of Romance Fiction 2014

I am back, tired but happy. I didn’t win the award for New Talent but feel a winner in many other ways. To have Maggie’s Child recognised is enough for me. Congratulations to all winners, and enjoy the journey.

One of my highlights was chatting to Katie Fforde. What a fantastic lady and such an honour to spend time with her.

Meeting my writing family cannot be emotionally explained. It is an amazing feeling and we had a wonderful time together.

Thank you all for supporting me and encouraging me to move forward.

I came home inspired, and at the coffee stop on way home I wrote an opening scene to the next book in the family saga. We were told we could use the shortlisted mention in our books, and hold our heads up as the standard of entries was extremely high this year. I will add the words with pride.

Now for a few days of reality, and I will be back to the desk to prepare for the workshop I have been invited to tutor. My goodness, I have moved faster than I could ever imagine!

It was a wonderful time! Thank you for bringing it back to life in this lovely post. As you say, the best thing was meeting other writers. In that sense, we all won something. Happy writing.

Deniz, it was but now I have a dead laptop and new computer to keep my brain occupied at present! Rescuing files is not half as much fun as meeting live authors, or being short-listed for awards!

Hi Glynis .. that’s such good news – no wonder you’re so chuffed … brilliant for you and Maggie’s Child. And so good that you could meet Katie Fforde and spend time with her ..

Now to add to your skills with your tutoring for the workshop – what a lot going on .. really good news – cheers Hilary
